~breathes a huge sigh of relief~ It's finally, FINALLY done. Seriously...everytime I sat down to do this, more and more conflicts would come to mind, and I just couldn't get what I wanted onto the sheet of paper. Anyway, this is a picture for Amber Skye on fanfiction.net, whose one-shot entitled, "Statusque," was very well written. Back in February (yes...it's been that long) I held a contest on that site. It was for who could write the best valentines day one-shot using any couple and theme they wished to use. The prize was that I would draw them a picture based on their one-shot. (I also warned them I wasn't the best of artists. -_- Anyway, let me just first say that I will never do a contest again. It was INSANELY hard to choose a winner. I had to read them over again. @_@ But Amber Skye had a really cool approach to hers that I just didn't expect, and I could seriously feel my heart quicken as I got towards the main twist in her story. So, to Amber Skye: 1) I am so, SO sorry it took me this long. 2) Your one-shot was amazing. 3) I hope you like this picture @_@
Conflicts & Mistakes:
-I know that Terra's statue was more of a grey color, but when drawing the picture, I just found brown to go better.
-I know Terra's plaque is actually placed by her statue, rather than plastered on there, but again---when I was drawing this, I just liked it better that way. It seemed empty without it.
-I know Terra's eyes are not glowing yellow in the cartoon, but if you read Amber Skye's one-shot (which I highly encourage Teen Titan fans to do) You will understand why.
-The thing that Beast Boy is dropping is a bracelet. I was originally going to draw it 10 times bigger in the background, just sort of floating there, but as I drew Beast Boy, I suddenly found myself drawing him with his arm outstretched. Then later I thought the splatters of blood in the background would be more effective, but I still really wanted the jewelry in the picture, so I made Beast Boy's out stretched arm drop the beautiful gift.
Okay...I think I'm finally done explaining myself. LOL. And again, to Amber Skye: I really hope you like this, and I really am sorry it took me so long to do. ~bows karate style~ Bye for now!
very nice...i love the way you drew beast boy, abstract yet having enough detail to make it effective. speaking of detail, you did really well with terras suit. the picture tells a story all by itself, so thats another great achievement. hahaha...random, but i love bbs hair and ears...very nice!
